Questions about massage before and after the birth
Do I need to ask my doctor or midwife first?
Yes, please ask before you book, and tell your therapist what they said. We go ahead with your provider's say-so, and we do not diagnose.
What do I lie on, and how am I covered?
You lie on your side on a table padded with pillows, under a sheet. Only the area we are working on is uncovered, and it is covered again when we move on. Ask for another pillow or a new position whenever you like.
Can I bring my baby?
If there is no one to leave the baby with, bring them along with a second adult who can hold them while you are on the table. We pause whenever the baby needs you.
What do I wear?
Whatever is comfortable. Undress only as far as you like; we work around whatever you keep on. A sheet is over you the whole time.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Iracema and Hermila both see clients in Spanish and in English, and this whole site is in both.
Do you use oils or scents?
An unscented oil or lotion, unless you ask for a scent. Tell us about any allergy when you book and we will use something else.
What if I feel unwell during a session?
Tell us at once. We stop, help you sit up and bring you water, and you can end the session whenever you want.
Can someone come with me?
Yes, to wait with you. The room is small, so a partner, a parent or a friend waits in the lobby during the session.
How often should I come?
As often as suits you. Some people book once, some come every few weeks. Your therapist can suggest a rhythm after your first visit.
Should I tip?
Tipping is optional. You can add it when you pay or hand it to your therapist.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give us 24 hours to move or cancel a visit. If you or the baby are unwell, tell us and we will move it without question.
How does pricing work?
The price is set by the length of the session and any time you add on the day. The booking page shows it before you confirm.
